The EX130 is a new generation of ExcaDrill that delivers the full power of a 35-45 ton excavator to the tool increasing drilling capacity and performance while keeping the hydraulics simple. A single layer grooved drum, controlled freefall winch sets the EX130 above the competition for fast, hassle-free drilling. Depending on arrangement can drill up to a 144" hole 94 feet deep.

* Nominal Torque (aka Rated Torque) is published by all manufacturers but is actually a theoretical calculation that ignores the 15% - 20% efficiency loss present in all rigs.

* Actual Torque is the usable torque at the tool determined through testing of every Watson rig. This value is not typically shared by manufacturers.

**Varies depending on excavator mount and bars

EX130 DEFINING ADVANTAGES

  • tri-drive HYDRAULIC ROTARY DRIVE SYSTEM

Triple Drive Rotary enables shiftless operation from 130,000 ft-lbs to 100 rpm spinoff. Without clutches, gear changes or sensors, simplicity, and thus reliability is achieved.

  • FULL EXCAVATOR POWER

Hydraulics are designed to harness the full horsepower of the excavator and deliver to both the tool and the winch for maximum production.

  • LARGEr DIAMETER 24" ROTARY = bigger bars

The larger the rotary, the bigger the Kelly bars, the bigger the bearings, the less wear and tear. Larger diameter also means more kelly bars for greater depth without trading off kelly tube thickness and drive lug area.

  • TOP APPLIED KELLY CROWD SYSTEM

Full length top applied crowd force drills straighter holes and simplifies Kelly locking.

  • SINGLE LAYER, GROOVED KELLY WINCH DRUM

The Kelly winch is fitted with a large diameter grooved winch drum big enough to keep all of the wire rope on one layer and a rear roller. With this combination, speed and consistent linepull are achieved along with excellent rope management and long rope life.

  • PROPRIETARY CONTROLLED FREEFALL KELLY WINCH

Watson's proprietary controlled freefall winch achieves the performance of prior freefall systems with even greater control over the tool while rapidly descending down the hole. Coupled with a 2-SPEED raise function and the EX has unbeatable cycle times.

  • OPTIMIZED AND ISOLATED HYDRAULIC INTERFACE

Integration to the excavator has been carefully managed to limit the overlap of the systems by providing a dedicated valve for the drill. By cleanly separating the two systems, diagnostics, servicing and maintenance of the drill can be distinct from the excavator.

  • QUICK DISCONNECT ATTACHMENT

Removing the drill section of the Watson EX130 makes for an easy teardown/setup and less weight on a single load.  New trunnion design allows for automatic alignment of pins and thread assisted pin insertion and removal.

  • INTERCHANGEABLE SQUARE FRICTION OR ROUND LOCKING KELLY BARS

Heavy duty Kelly bars made from high strength alloy steel are standard on Watson rigs. The EX has interchangeable inserts to allow swap out for either square friction or round locking to suit your drilling needs for any given job.  Up to 6 elements available.

  • CUSTOMIZATION TO FIT CUSTOMER APPLICATION

WATSON is a custom manufacturer that welcomes the opportunity to customize rigs. EX rigs can be mounted to numerous makes and models of excavators and further modified to fit specific applications requirements like railcar mount, 10' mast heights, zero turn, etc.

  • PATENTED ROUND LOCKING BARS

Watson has always built the heaviest duty round locking kellys in the business. The latest generation incorporates patented features designed to eliminate the hassle of finding locks while vastly extending the time between servicing. With 4x the torque surface and 12x the crowd surface, customers are able to go years between refurbishing bars. Additionally, open bottom design allows easy drainage for slurry drilling.
