Watson builds the heaviest duty round locking kellys in the business.  They incorporate patented features designed to vastly extend the time between servicing.  With 2x the torque surface and 12x the crowd surface, customers have been able to go years between refurbishing bars.

Watson's top crowd system applies the downward force to the top of the kelly rather than through a rotary/bar locking system. The controllable outer bar can drill the full length without moving the rotary eliminating the need lock the outer bar. The wear and tear on the rotary from crowd forces is eliminated while also allowing the operator to drill straighter holes in less time.  

Quad Drive Rotary enables shiftless operation from 222,000 ft-lbs to 90 rpm spinoff.

The 4500 has the largest rotary passage in the industry at 25."  The larger the rotary, the bigger the Kelly bars, the bigger the bearings, the less wear and tear.

12' tool diameter around the tracks with 66" diameter up the mast and full pull at any position.  A square footprint and weight distribution designed to be at maximum stability when boomed up make the 4500 the most stable rig in this class.

Provides 25' of rotary clearance with full length set of bars.  This means you can achieve max tool clearance and max depth with the same set of bars.

Dedicated positioning cylinder provide 25 feet of rotary clearance, casing advancement and extraction forces, and easy setup.

Time tested pilot controls provide superior control and feel, easier diagnostics and with fewer headaches and obsolescence than electronics. Manual levers on all sections allow for even easier diagnostics or override.

All done without breaking lines, rigging or mast assembly.  All functions are self erecting and all pins are hydraulically actuated.
